Kevin Cheng (鄭嘉穎), Mandy Cho (曹敏莉), Gigi Lai (黎姿), Sharon Chan (陳敏之), Sonija Kwok (郭羨妮), Nancy Sit (薛家燕) and Liza Wang (汪明荃) were among the guests and product representatives at the 2008 Watsons HWB Awards <屈臣氏健康美麗大賞2008> ceremony yesterday.
With recent reports bringing Kevin's love life back into the spotlight this week, suggesting that during his five year relationship with rumoured girlfriend Niki Chow (周麗淇), he had also been simultaneously dating six other women, including Mandy and Sharon. When Kevin and Mandy were asked to be photographed together, they seemed a little awkward, but complied graciously.
Kevin seemed prepared for the questions when he met the press and he seemed to be less frosty than usual when he was asked about the rumours. He responded lightly, laughing that if he was linked with one more lady, then he could play the character of "Wai Siu Bo" with seven wives from the Duke of Mount Deer <鹿鼎記> novels. Asked if he could be the real life Wai Siu Bo, Kevin suggested that the question should be directed to the reporter who wrote the report and smiled that the next report will probably be about him being gay or fathering a child.
Asked what he thought about Sharon's open comments about him being handsome, Kevin laughed that he will treat her to dinner sometime. He added that beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but there is no way that he could possibly date six women at the same time. He sighed that what the reporters write is beyond his control, but he has learned not to take these things too seriously and just treat it as free promotion for his series.
Sharon was also quite relaxed when quizzed by the press and she said that she has worked with Kevin on three or four series and they used to share a manager, so they know each other quite well. She smiled that he treats her more like a man though, so there is no chance of them dating. She said that Kevin is not her cup of tea and there is no awkwardness between them despite the reports.
Mandy also said that there was nothing between her and Kevin other than that she was grateful for looking out for her when she first started out in acting and they filmed Split Second <爭分奪秒> together.
