"Totoo bang hindi in-honor [ang credit card ni Gretchen]? Totoo po yun. Totoo po yun na nangyari sa isang restaurant. Totoong sinubukan po ng cashier. IIang beses sinubukang i-swipe ang card, hindi po nag-work. Totoo, pero hindi ang dahilan ay pinutol. May problema ang magnet nung machine. Totoo na dumating si Tonyboy. Tinawagan agad ni Gretchen," explains Boy Abunda about the "credit card incident" that involved his talent and friend Gretchen Barretto.
It seems that talent manager and The Buzz host Boy Abunda has his hands full clearing things about his talents' marriages.
After denying the rumor that celebrity couple Kris Aquino and James Yap have to to splitsville, Abunda is now trying to put to rest rumors about the break-up of tycoon Tonyboy Cojuangco and actress Gretchen Barretto.
Abunda said that contrary to reports in the newspapers and the internet, the two are still together, despite a recent incident where they were spotted arguing in a five-star hotel's restaurant.
That incident involved a rejected credit card used by Barretto to pay for the dinner she had with friends from showbusiness, including Ruffa Gutierrez and Pops Fernandez.
Abunda admitted that when Barretto's card was rejected by the card machine, it occurred to her that her credita card might have been cut by Cojuangco.
However, Abunda said that when Barretto called for Cojuangco's help, he was there in just two minutes to clarify matters. Abunda admitted that the two had a heated discussion but it was not enough for them to break up.
" Ito yung totoo, nagworry si Gretch... Is it possible na pinaputol? Siguro pero di po totoo. Talagang may problema yung machine. May problema yung magnet.
"Tinext ni Gretch si Tonyboy and in fairness to Tonyboy, dumating siya ng two minutes. Nagaway ba? Nagkainitan ba? Oo. Pero di sa CR. Nagkadebate. I dont blame Gretchen kasi feeling nga niya pinutol yung credit card.
"Ako i want to emphasize this, Gretch realized after the incident how much she means to Tonyboy. Tonyboy was there in 2 mins. Di niya pinabayaan," Abunda explained.
